The official soundtrack for a game written in seven days for a game jam called Fuck This Jam.

Available for download it at golfxtrm.com

"Most traditional golf games seem to be about watching power meters and adjusting targeting sights, measuring angles on a map, and generally not having much to do with what makes actual golf enjoyable - which is being outdoors, gradually progressing through the course, enjoying the scenery and the peaceful atmosphere. Fuck This Jam is all about creating a game in a genre you hate, with the aim of sublimating it into something that steps outside the genre’s usual boundaries. Rather than doing a simple parody, I chose to try to make something immersive, by taking those concepts that appeal to me in golf and emphasising them. Here is an undirected sandbox experience, where you can explore a landscape in the first person (contrary to the usual golf game 3rd person tradition), where you have to take your time walking, and you can even lose the ball permanently if you don’t pay attention to where it went, just like real life. There are realistic ball physics too, but there’s a lot more scope for interaction with the environment than is normal in such games. I also like to think the surreal nature of the game is improved by the fact i know almost nothing about real golf. So here's my take on the genre. " -Eugene Hopkinson (riot.so)
